I wish people knew something about politics before they opened their mouth
I voted got Bush, straight Republican all the way, even though I'm not a big Arlen Specter fan. Looks like I made the right choice.

I apologize in advance if I make really mean comments in other people's journals. People that say that Bush "makes them sick" and "makes me want to leave the country," and also say things like, "Bush paid to change the votes," and "Bush caused this war" SHOULD be deported for not knowing anything about how this country works. Congress still had to vote on war, so stuff it. You don't say anything when the Dems own the Senate and the Presidency, so why complain now? It happens. It's not a "dark day" unless it's raining outside so fuck you.

Wait four years, and then he'll be gone. Sorry, majority rules this time, and no amount of dimpled chads can help. And Breathe, I wish they would leave the country so I wouldn't have to hear thier misinformed opinions. Yeah, to all of you twats whose anti-Bush half-truth crap I read over countless LJ updates and forum rants, bite my shiny metal ass.

Aside from politics and Michael Moore going back to the Twinkie factory to drown his sorrows, I had a good night. I made some rigatoni and chicken for me and Lesley, with some keen spices and some thick Barilla sauce with melted fancy cheese on top of the chicken. A success in my mind.

Now I must sleep. I wanted to go to bed when I got home, but I had to say my peace.

And if ya didn't vote, zip it.

Sorry man, but the "LOL Michael Moore is fat" thing just doesn't fly anymore. Rush Limbaugh was both fat and a narcotic addict, but people weren't allowed to make fun of him because he was staunchly conservative. Oh, but make a movie with hyperbole because you want to shake people up and get them to think? "OMG FAT", "OMG BUTTERTROLL SMILEY WITH CAMERA"...

But it warms my heart to see the best possible argument against Michael Moore is his weight. That leads me to believe that his political views are just unassailable by those who crack the joke, so they just insult his weight.

As for zipping it if I didn't vote, perhaps a certain old thread by Katara would interest you. Though for the record I did vote and now feel disenfranchised. Figures.

Both Moore and Limbaugh aren't politicians, so in my mind, they mean nothing in the world of politics. I never paid attention to both of those liars since they don't contribute anything.

Oh, and giving other arguments about Moore winds you in a screaming match with people who wave his movies around like gospel. Like fighting on the internet, you're not going to get anywhere with someoen who likes Moore. Likewise with Limbaugh.

His movies don't, "get you to think." They prey on the stupid and gullible.

Well, I will admit, it's like the last election, the lesser of two evils. Kerry, however, really unerrves me with his opinions. Now, had the Bush party been digging up all the shit he voted for 20 years ago, I wouldn't buy into it, but a lot of the shit Kerry said was just based on where he was at the time, just like Al Gore, who did an anti-smoking rally followed up by a rally to help tobacco growers keep thier jobs. When you're running, you have to be strong and steady, not dance around the flames to fit the moths.

You can't please all the people all the time, and every Democratic candidate I see run for the Presidency always tries to do just that. Bush at least stuck with his guns. Before he was elected he even said he was gonna fuck shit up in Iraq. And what sucks is that any thing he does now to help the economy won't take effect until after he's gone. I hate how everyone thinks the economy A) is up to the government to solve, and B) should happen instantaneously. All the President can do is propose a bill to offer business incentives for companies and cross his fingers.

On the issue of the whole terrorism thing, I think it's silly to have a war against something that will always be around. But hell, what's the death count? Around a thousand or so? Vietnam saw a hell of a lot worse, and that didn't even involve us. Clinton's guilty of sending troops off to die too, oh wait, that was the UN using our troops to send to Bosnia and such. Hey, if you sign up for the army, you know the risk involved. I don't have a problem with our troops being sent somewhere if the US makes the call. I wish we could secede from the UN.

Oh, and on the God issue, I don't see why Kerry can go to his Catholic church and try to get support at churches, but Bush mentiones the word God because it's part of his nature as a Christian and everyone says he wants to convert the country. It's on our fucking money for Christ's sake (pardon the pun) and our kids say the word every day in school, so how is that any different? Just because he's the President he can't say "God Bless America?"

Anywho, I'm tired and must be off to sleep. All I've seen is Democrats fuck shit up (remember Bush isn't compassionate because he didn't want to pass a law that gave homes to drug addicts).

So goodnight, until I reply to lots of comments in the morning or after school. Brace yourself Scott, you might have to house many a forumite since they've threatened to leave the country and all.

If only they would.

Eh, just in general I prefer the Republican views on things. I do hope Bush works on the social security and welfare reforms he mentions on his site. I could care less about conservation plans in general, and his ideas on security really to me look like fine tuning or modifying what's aleady there.

For healthcare ad education, there's not much anyone can do, it never hurts to try though. And he says he'll throw in some business incentives, but as stated, he can't do much more than that.

At least Bush's website lists actual plans and monetary figures to back it up. Kerry's webpage just says for each issue, "We'll make it better."

"Bush caused this war"

If Bush did not cause this war who did? The war on Iraq is so unfounded it’s beyond belief you have the ability to type yet not to understand simple things. Such as Iraq was a 90% no fly zone. Know what that means? I assume you don't, but it means that we flew over their country preventing them from having any air force or viewable military installations. Second Iraq had neither weapons of mass destruction nor any weapon that could reach us, many of us knew this the ignorant didn't. Many of us knew that Saudi's had nukes and were dictatorship but they have lots of control on OPEC. Many of us knew that South Korea had Nukes, Dictator worse than Sadam, and Nukes that could reach us.
Now everyone who didn't fall into the simplify and repeat genre understood there were obviously no connections between Sadam and 9/11 Osama. They were two different types of conflicting Muslims for crying out loud. So now I ask you, if he didn't start the war, who did? He proposed it and he asked for the congress to give him the power to go to war. So hope this war was truly worth all the American lives and the innocent civilians lives.

"SHOULD be deported for not knowing anything about how this country works."

You shouldn't be allowed to vote for not knowing how the country works. Firstly it is not simply the fact that Bush won but the fact that Republicans are now major majority of the House and Senate. So now with complete control over house and senate + president you can go to war anytime you want to. The worse part is the fact that the Liberal Supreme Court Justices are leaving during this term, and the President gets to assign new ones. He will assign conservative ones who agree with him of course making all the Supreme court right as well (and they stay there for life).
So now with one party with complete control of all branches of government you no longer have checks and balances.

Along with the fact that they have control of FCC and they will undoubtedly give the right for companies to have monopoly on TV stations which has been growing but surely will grow dramatically with this new control.

“Congress still had to vote on war, so stuff it.”

Did you watch the election with a blindfolded and fingers in your ears? The republicans have large majority of congress now. With the president they can now start any war they want.

"You don't say anything when the Dems own the Senate and the Presidency"

Well this isn’t just President and House; this is President, House, Senate and Supreme Court. Big Difference.

As well with this power we are not going to move forward we are going to step back. We are going to create more “haves” and “have-nots” with proven wrong reganomics. Yes tax breaks are nice, for the rich. If you have more than 1 million dollars you get a tax cut of 80k if you are everyone else you get 800 dollars. We are building a huge deficit (I thought republicans weren’t supposed to do that?) that will have to be paid off in our generation. We will step back in social issues and let popular religion impose its morals on the country as a whole ignoring the separation between church and state. Why do we outlaw gay-marriage? Because we can’t hurt this intuition of marriage that has over 50% divorce rate? Religion should in no way affect the polices and laws made by our government nor should there be laws that prevent the practices that are against certain religions, but this new government with no checks and balances doesn’t believe in freedom. So we have reason to fear.

So hey even if you are republican, I can understand if you are rich – you must still understand why people say the things they do and hell maybe you learned a little.

You forget that when Congress votes, it's not majority rules end of story. It's 2/3. 56 Repubs in the Sentae only equals 56%, or less than 2/3.

I am not rich, I'm actually a poor college student.

And so uh, name me some people that were unjustly hurt from the Patriot Act?

Hey, sometimes a party controls all three. Deal. You've repeated this fact like 3 times now. If America was to become a dictatorship, that would mean the Congress and Court would lose thier jobs, and the fat and happy politcians on both sides wouldn't want that.

And Kerry opposed gay marriage too, so I don't see what the big deal is, unless he changed that opinion along the way. Amendments can be repealed. And for the WMD issue, didn't they find out that Saddam was paying other countries to build/house his projects, namely Kenya? Makes sense, Saddam's not a dumb cookie. Hell, I'm unsure if they didn't catch one of his stunt doubles like in Spaceballs.

You're taking this way too seriously. When you say "fear," you aren't really fearing anything, or else you WOULD move out of the country. You're just pissed off and ranty that the Republicans are in the hizzy for the next 4 years.

Well I wasnt going to come back because I knew I had you beat but I was encouraged.

The senate still has enough to prevent fillibusters now which is a great power, and if you dont understand how much power majority holds than you are simply ignorant to politics.

So if you are not rich you have no excuse to vote for Bush, and you are a new voter too so get off your high horse.

The reason I repeated this fact 3 times now is simple, first its a fact and a scary one at that. Any government without checks and balances is scary. Seecond because you have yet to dispute this fact. I never said America was a dictatorship however they still have enough power to rape freedom like no other reign of power we had before. For the sake of arguement however if they did create a dictatorship 1. Congress would have new jobs 2. It would be much more effective to abuse the power they have without dramatic changes in structure since there would be no need.

I dont ever see where I support Kerry.

Amendments can be repealed but why should we even have unjust, unconstitutional and anti-freedom amendments in our consitution to begin with?

As for the WMD issue, we gave him all his chemical weapons to fight Iran. We had a 90% no fly zone so we know how much power he held, we knew they had no weapons that could possibly hit America. However if WMD was the only issue then we could attack the Saudi's, NK, India and countless other nations.

Oh and:
"Before he was elected he even said he was gonna fuck shit up in Iraq." - You being a dumbass.

So now that you admit that Bush had an alternate agenda for attacking Iraq we know the war is a bullshit reason to waste human life. Even if these soilders signed up for a dangerous job their life isnt worth bullshit reasons to die nor the thousands upon thousands of innocent civillian lives. Oh and Vietnam was worse? Give it time, Iraq will be much worse and it hasnt had near the time vietnam had.

You are wrong. I do fear the distraught the country is in but I can forsee the possible outcomes such as World War 3 being brought on by lack of oil and the vast industrilization of countries of India and China needing oil. Matter-a-factly we will be 1.1million barrels short next year. So planting the seeds for war is already set.

The reason I dont movie is for two reasons, 1 Iam a poor college student, Iam enrolled and do not have enough money to move. If anyone was willing to pay Id be on the first fucking flght out. Second I dont believe in that whole "Love it or Leave it" Shit, I believe in "Love it or Change it".

"And what sucks is that any thing he does now to help the economy won't take effect until after he's gone."

What the fuck kind of logic is this? Regan administration felt its fuck ups with Reganomics quickly by making more "haves" and "Have-nots". Clinton administration felt its benefits to economy just the same. So where the fuck is the logic in a statement like this?

What pisses me off above all is that the majority of the people voting are ignorant like you or voting for religious reasons and not the issues or the ideas. Thanks supporting the deaths of innocent people, thanks for supporting the rapping of our freedoms, thanks for supporting the decline of intellectuilism. When our children complain about the state we left our country in and the debts they pay off, just tell them you helped it.

So why bush?

Only justified reason is if you are worth over 1 million dollars, everything else has been proven moot.

Bitch and whine about it all you like, it ain't gonna change the fact that we got 4 more years. Scream like a kid, tell me I'm stupid and an idiot, run around and hold your breath until your face goes blue, Bush still won and tough shit.

"So where the fuck is the logic in a statement like this?"

Because changes done to the economy don't take place until several years later, usually when a president is out of office. The economy is slow to change, unlike what the public beieves.

No I'm saying a majority of the country is stupid because they are not rich. They have no excuse to vote for someone who is going to screw them to help the rich.

The supreme court will last a lot longer than four years, too.

"Because changes done to the economy don't take place until several years later, usually when a president is out of office. The economy is slow to change, unlike what the public beieves."

I gave examples why this is not true.

"What the fuck kind of logic is this? Regan administration felt its fuck ups with Reganomics quickly by making more "haves" and "Have-nots". Clinton administration felt its benefits to economy just the same we were moving out of deficeit. So where the fuck is the logic in a statement like this?"

If someone is truly your friend, then they will accept you for you and your opinions no matter what, unless you are trying to force them upon someone else or change their opinion. If someone gets mad at you over something like this, then they are the zealot and need to grow up and realize this is a free country (for the most part) where we are allowed to have opinions and think for *GASP* ourselves (WHAT A SCARY THOUGHT).
